Bio
Born in Tokyo, raised in Texas, I am bilingual as well as bi-(or tri-?)cultural, which made me aware of issues of discrimination at an early age, which led me to become a vocal feminist and social activist. As a Japanese returnee with light complexion, I spent my youth struggling with my identity and wanting a sense of belonging. It wasn't until quite recent that I've become truly comfortable with who I am, inside the skin I live. I'm open to share all my struggles, mistakes, joy and triumphs with anyone who is interested, and like to listen to other similar stories. I am very passionate about feminist and queer causes. For example, although I am biologically and genetically a woman, I consider myself as gender queer, so was disappointed that your application form only contains 2 choices. (I hope to see this changed sometime in the near future!) I believe in the goodness of a person, and that we need to believe in our ability to recognize the goodness in each other. All my personal as well as professional/political relationships boils down to this simple philosophy.
I'm passionate about
Social issues that affect our daily lives. I believe every small comment, every small act, of every person on this earth, counts in a way that affects the entire world.
Things you might not know
everything except numbers. I specialize in being a Jane-Of-All-Trades.
