About JiaYen
Bio
My career interests lie at the interface of forest conservation, environmental economics, and human development. One of my core concerns is in identifying the barriers and incentives to sustainable and ethical agricultural and forestry practices. I have over 10 years of practical experience in conservation and development issues in Southeast Asia, working in the industry of journalism, business, NGOs, and education institutes. These invaluable experiences have significantly shaped my interdisciplinary perspectives and interests in environmental management issues. I am therefore enthusiastic about learning and developing affordable and equitable ways to improve land use practices and human wellbeing.
Feel free to keep in touch if you have any comments, questions or proposals. I'm keen to bridge the science-practice gap and particularly interested in opportunities for science communication or outreach.
