Bio
Graduate translation student, specialisation in literary and media translation. Working languages: German, English, Italian (other (basic) language skills: French, Swedish, Turkish). Absolute bookworm and travel enthusiast. The sky is the limit.
If the universe will make it happen somehow, I will fly to Nashville, Tennessee in early August to take part in an exchange program at the Middle Tennessee State University. This has been a dream of mine since I am little. Everything is set, we are just waiting for the borders to be opened. I will be teaching German to American students.
So stay connected to find out where I will be editing my next TED subtitles - at a huge university in one of the southern states of the United States with a big city just around the corner, or back in good old Germersheim, a small town where only about a thousand students still wander through the streets?

The TED story
Hello everyone and welcome to my TED-profile :)
I am new to being a TED-translator and really enthusiastic about becoming a part of this worldwide group of inspired people who want to share and spread ideas!
I love to travel the world. I have visited 28 countries and what I learned on every single trip is that without being able to communicate life is pretty hard. Fortunately I learn new languages very fast and can at least start conversation and thank someone in their native language after a very short amount of time I spent in a place. But when I think about my father for example, I realise that he would have much more trouble if he went on trips I am going on since he does not speak a single English word.
Thinking further, it made me really sad when I realised that he can not enjoy much of the online entertainment just because it is not available in his mother tongue. I love the concept of TED and find it wonderful that people around the globe can share their knowledge, dreams, experiences, feelings and ideas. This inspired me to become a TED translator. I wanted to bring all this knowledge, all the dreams, the experiences, the feelings and the ideas closer to people like my faster. Because only when we understand each other, we can build a community.
