Bio
My name's Tamile Pinheiro. I am a languages professional who is almost finishing a specialization in audiovisual translation. I really believe in what we do here at TED. Being a translator gives us the opportunity to spread really important messages.
I'm passionate about
I am passionate about languages and communication. Each language and each person has an unique way of express their interior and it comes out through their languages and their voices.
An idea worth spreading
Everybody must have the right to have a voice. Even those who are voiceless now will be heard someday.
The TED story
My story with TED started in 2012 when I was at college. My english professor showed us a Chimmamanda Adichie's video: "The danger of a single story". I remembered I wanted to show everyone that video which had touched me so deeply, but I coundn't since my close friends ans relatives. Since then somehow the Idea of being a translator has been growing inside my mind.
Last year, when I finished college I was decided to be a translator, so I enrolled in a audiovisual translating specialization course, and one of my classmates told that I could apply to be a TED translator. I'm very prod and happy to be a part of it.

Videogames. I grew up in a gamer household. I had an older cousin that made me passionate about videogames.
