Computer software

I heard one person talk passionately about TED talks several times in the early days, but he and I obviously have different passions so he only picked boring topics and never got me hooked. A couple of years later I got pregnant and spent a few months on the couch, watching boring TV shows. I browsed available plugins for my video software (XBMC at the time, Kodi nowadays) and discovered the TED plugin. By the time my daughter was born I had watched hundreds of TED talks, at a time when the intro video said there were about 900 available. My drive to add captions to every video comes from close relationships with people who are hard of hearing. My drive to translate from English to Swedish comes from close relationships with people who don't understand English.
