The TED story
One summer night in Damascus, I was studying Software Engineering at Damascus University back then, I met a guy who when I asked about useful things I can do to fill my time, told me about TED. That was the first time I heard about TED, and I was fascinated by the idea, especially when he told me that if my English is good I can participate in the TED Open Translation Program and become a TED Translator.
I signed up at TED's website and filled the application to become a TED Translator, and the rest as they say was history.
Since then, I introduced many of my friends and family to TED, and one of them actually became a TED Arabic coordinator at TED's OTP and a speaker at TEDx Jahez.
