About Magdalena

I am a…

Activist, Artist, Brainstormer, Change Agent, Connector, Explorer, Global soul, Idea generator, Performer, World traveler

Bio

My career has spanned from competitive dance to business consulting, and finally to pharma and biotech. Today, after a few years of bringing digital to the R&D and commercial organizations, I have been charged with exploring the next frontiers of organizational design and social innovation, and with establishing novel/unconventional partnerships (Space, Disney, IDEO, NGOs, USAirforce, the Vatican among others), and building the culture of exploration and continuous learning. Through all of these efforts, Global Center for Scientific Leadership and Innovation is "Prototyping the future" and developing new value streams going beyond shareholder impact, assuring sustainable performance and enabling innovation at the level of communities we serve.

I'm passionate about

Finding new solutions to old problems, helping animals (adoption, shelter, support), never refuse to travel, dancing. Defining/imagining the "world of tomorrow."

Areas of expertise

Ballroom and Latin dance, change management, continuous curiosity, design thinking, Digital, Experimental design and empirical research, Learning organizations, Organizational transformation, Pharmacueticals, social innovation, Techonology

The TED story

An Excerpt from my 2013 TED Active Blog:Thank you, thank you very much…Yes, it was me, indeed. What do you mean you didn’t see me? I was there, on the TED stage doing what I call a cha-cha-cha. Still nothing? Oh well, I hope you at least made it to the rest of today’s sessions as those folks were as good as it gets. But seriously, if you did miss me (and, really?), we are trying to change the world here, so if you are planning to party late make sure you set the alarm! Or get a robot that can: wake you up, prepare breakfast, pick up the right wardrobe and make sure you are NOT late. Check out Baxter or ROMO – they might be able to help or recommend you the best robot to help you with those. Today’s speakers – what a treat! It was a mix of wonderful ideas, charismatic speakers, and mind-blowing initiatives. I will not try summarize all the talks but provide you with my, subjective, highlights of Magda’s impressions of the first official day at TED.
