Hello, I am a freelance translator and subtitler from English and Spanish to Slovak. I work as a translator full-time but also devote part of my time to translating/reviewing/approving TED and TEDx talks. I mostly help with subtitles for talks from TEDxBratislava which is a TEDx event held in Bratislava, Slovakia since 2010. I also try to recruit new translators, mainly students of translation studies. Feel free to contact me if you have a specific talk to review/approve or if you need anything else. I watched a TED talk once. Then I watched some more. As a student of translation, I started translating talks as a volunteer. In recent years, I have focused more on reviewing and in March 2020 I was promoted to a language coordinator for Slovak, which is a huge honor. I would like to motivate more students-translators to use volunteering for TED as a way of gaining experience.
