Hi there! I'm a Technical Operations manager specialized in video, subtitles and localization, with +13 years of remote work experience at Amara.org, serving clients like Google, Microsoft, LinkedIn, Netflix, Vimeo, Red Bull, TED, Udacity, Ro*Co Films, MoMA, Cal Academy, Swarovsky and a long etc. I'm native Spanish speaker, but all my work experience is in English or with English materials. I hold a C2 Certificate from British Council for good measure. I love scripting and automating processes using PHP and open source tools like ffmpeg, rclone and anything Linux, and I know about enough whisper, open-webui and ComfyUI to produce some usable AI slop. My work included: ● handling product specifications, technical requirements and customer technical support requests; project technical scoping ● automating APIs, batch processes and video processing; ● basic management of Cloud Storage (users, permissions, expiry policies, etc.) ● using PHP and our own API to generate reports for clients and for internal use; ● importing/exporting subtitle formats and producing subtitle burn-ins; ● using neural/AI tools like whisper and piper for speech-to-text and text-to-speech tasks and proofs of concept; ● performing QA/transcription/translation/editing/format imports and exports of subtitles both on our online editor, ad-hoc scripts/regular expressions, and with offline tools like SubtitleEdit; ● ages ago by now, I worked as proofreader of English translations for a publisher and copywriter of book covers and editorial columns.

Modern progress may require more often than not to have a thousand people working on problems only one individual will succeed at solving. For our future economy to work we may have to realize that you can't just sit and expect to hire just the one. The more people we make work to solve problems --brilliant people from all around the world--, the sooner we'll make those unvaluable discoveries.
