The TED story
It was late in my teens when I was introduced to the TED videos by one of my professors during my graduation in National Institute of Fashion Technology, Mumbai. I was not so good at understanding English at that time. Later down the years, I took it as a challenge to improve my English and communication skills. TED has played an essential role in my learning. One of my favorite TED talks is 'TED's secret to excellent public speaking' by Chris Anderson. In fact, I can't explain in words how it has transformed my presentation skills. We won awards in a few of the design competitions just using the techniques described by Chris.
The next phase of my TED journey was me keeping an eye on topics that interest me. All these videos have played a significant role in improving my personality and reaching to attain higher goals in life. Reflecting on these benefits always create an urge to contribute back to TED. It was until I met Abhinav, who is now one of my closest friends. He introduced me to the volunteering opportunity at TED, and it's been an incredible journey to translate the TED videos.
A long way to go, and I can't stop making the TED sessions accessible to diverse people over the world, including my parents. They find TED more familiar in my mother tongue, i.e. Marathi.
