Bio
Hiwa Foundation is a Non-Profit Organization based in the city of Slemani, Kurdistan of Iraq. It was established on March 6, 2013 by a Kurdish business man (Hiwa Rauf). Hiwa Foundation is leaning in to enable creativity and perfection throughout publishing and supporting creative and good educational materials. The aim is to see positive results in the next generation and helping men and women to reach full potential of their ambitions and dreams.

The TED story
On the startup of Hiwa Foundation, we were the first entity to introduce TED TALKS to Kurdish community through translating the talks into Kurdish language. Many students and university instructors took advantage from the talks. We hired a group of admin translators to translate what Hiwa Foundation chooses and then put Kurdish subtitle on the videos since 2012 till present. Hiwa Foundation shares the translated videos on its social media pages for free that everyone can access to.
