Bio
Jen Hunter relishes her leadership role as a director at Deloitte and Market Lead for the Deloitte Greenhouse in the national capital region (NCR). In the last year she has led the opening of a four times as large Greenhouse at Bayview Yards by engaging account leaders, community leaders and business leaders in meaningful strategic conversations about topics as significant and diverse as Artificial Intelligence, Sustainability, Leadership, team and organizational development, business transformation and deepening strategic partnerships. She is known around the world for the zest she brings to her engagements! She continues to be viewed by leadership as a trusted partner in developing talent and creating real client breakthroughs for business impact. Jen's greatest pride over the past seven years has been developing deep and powerful business partnerships with leaders and clients who see the value and benefit of collective intelligence and advancing together!
Central to this are her passion for people, relationships, leadership and our planet. Jen brings a breadth and depth to her work that is exciting and sometimes even a little scary. She brings more than 30 years experience in facilitating change, which includes over 7 years as a lead designer and facilitator for the Deloitte Greenhouse, speaking at numerous International Association of Facilitators Global Conferences, launching a tech biz at Berlin Change Days, being a leader and active contributor to Systems Thinking in Action for well over a decade (was my annual learning pilgrimage), as well as being the first Canadian board member for the Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC), designing and teaching at Algonquin College's Green Business post graduate program, being part of a productive and fun tech executive team at Tomoye building online communities of practice well before everyone really thought the internet would actually be around for a long time, running federally and starting two companies. Jen loves life and it shows in the way she serves and engages leaders and organizations!
Looking forward to doing some MORE GreatWork together!

The TED story
I am no longer sure when I first became aware of TED cause it was that long ago… I feel certain is was in the late 90s (is that possible)? I started being inspired and spreading the talks with other leaders around then and becasue part of this global community by benefitting from the ideas others had distilled. I remember my brother in law Sandy pointing me to Dan Barber’s talk on Foie Gras as a game changer for me as a someone committed to sustainable living for humans on this beautiful planet. And of course, i was one of the first million to watch the iconic Ken Robinson talk on Education. I was thrilled to find a global community engaged in such rigorous and intentional pursuit of human ingenuity :D THANKS TED! Since then I have moved closer and closer to stepping onto the TED stage myself by participating in TED Women in 2019, then hosting two organizational TED Countdowns to inspire our organization to think and do things differently AND now hosting a TEDxMechanicsville at Bayview Yards in Ottawa on November 2, 2024 :D YAY!!! We received over 100 speaker applications for 18 spots - so very exciting and proof that the national capital region of Canada has MANY ideas worth spreading!
Things you might not know
Giving it a TRY! I am a practitioner - and I love learning enough to see a possibility for application - I love when writers develop a great framework and I can bring it to live (with thanks and attribution to the author). Some of my favourites have been Dan Pink’s A Whole New Mind and Benjamin Zander and Rosamund Zander The Art of Possibility :D I love smiling at people as I walk down the street and find it hilarious how often this makes other people (the ones I am with) uncomfortable.
