About Anny

Educator/Teacher, Global soul, Musician, Performer, Scientist
Bio
Anny was born in Taiwan, and split her childhood years between her home town Kaohsiung and Christchurch, New Zealand. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at Utah State University studying interactions between plants and microbes and their importance for maintaining coexistence and diversity in nature. Anny is also an avid musician and can often be found playing in the violin section of local orchestras. Her love of translating ideas is borne out in her passion for science, a fondness for arranging new music, and quite literally, her translation work in Chinese and English for TED.

Things you might not know
It has no career prospects to speak of, but I have bizarrely extensive training on recorders (yes, the plastic things they force on you in grade school). Probably the only other thing I can go to grad school for.
