Bio

I am from Mexico, specifically from Los Cabos BCS (Baja California Sur). I came to Chicago 6 years ago, since then, I am into translating and it has turn to be another great passion in my life. I love books, reading has always been my favorite thing to do, reading has lead me to know myself better and to discover things about life and living. Another thing that I like to do, when I can, is to walk the city, just walking, while having a coffee, I like to see people, observing others is interesting (observing, no stalking) I like to imagine the stories behind the faces that I see. In the future, in the near future actually, I would like to write a book, being a writer is an idea that was born in my mind at the same time I opened my first book to read: Robinson Crusoe. Since then, I just know I will not feel complete in my life until I have my own book written by myself in my hands. People who know me, also know that I am an environmentalist, I strongly believe that every person should be doing their job at taking care of our planet, by now, we shouldn't be producing so much plastic bottles and bags, and we all should be re educating ourselves and our children to use less and less disposable stuff. I joined TED because I feel the need of being part of something important, something that inspires others, something that make people feel that we can make it happen and create a better world where opportunities and possibilities are equal for everybody. I want to give a little bit, like the song says. Some of the good things that I can share. And maybe, this way I can get to know others who want the same things that I want and we can create a community of friends that spread the good in the earth.

An idea worth spreading

Lets take control of the amount of disposable plastic that we produce in the whole world. We are buried under a mountain of garbage. We don"t need to open a disposable bottle of water every time we are thirsty, we can choose a non-disposable bottle and refill it. There are many options nowadays to have purified water at home, like installing filters and that way have clean water for human consumption all the time. By doing that, in long terms, we will be saving money and saving our planet.
