In the not-so-distant past of 1999, a world illuminated by the flickering glow of a 36kb/second internet connection unfolded before me, revealing a realm I had yet to explore—the boundless expanse of cyberspace. The symphony of my fax modem as it ushered me into this digital universe felt akin to an overture, signaling the commencement of my journey into the profound capabilities of the internet. A decade into this digital odyssey, serendipity struck in the form of a transformative video that would forever alter the trajectory of my life. Barry Schwartz's TED Talk, "The Paradox of Choice," found its way to me, becoming an anchor in my soul. Its profound insights echoed within me, resonating as the definitive 'aha' moment that unfurled the profound potential of genuine connection. As the video's final moments drew near, the red and alluring TED logo beckoned, inviting me to delve deeper. With curiosity as my compass, I clicked through, entering a repository of 50 videos, each a revelation, a crystalline gem presenting captivating ideas that unfurled the tapestry of the world around me. In my humble attempt with limited English, I left a comment, a whisper into the vast digital ether—and to my astonishment, a response echoed back. The sensation of being heard, acknowledged, and engaged with was an exquisite revelation—a pivotal moment that drew me into embracing a global community of ideas. Since that poignant introduction, my journey has been intricately woven with TED—a tapestry of exploration, enlightenment, and connection. From following TED talks to immersing myself in TED conferences, my commitment solidified as I donned the hat of a Persian TED translator, bridging linguistic divides to amplify profound ideas for a wider audience. In 2014, the culmination of this journey led me to a pivotal role—I became the orchestrator of TEDxTehran.
