About Federica

I am a…

Concerned citizen, Designer, Parent, Photographer, World traveler

Bio

I am Italian, but I have lived abroad practically all my life. I was born in Rome, grew up in Switzerland before moving to Japan, where I spent my teenage years. I then lived 25 years in the UK, hopped over to Ireland for a short spell, and landed in Austria, where I am currently residing. I have a BA (Hons) in Metals Design and a MA in Silversmithing and Jewellery. I worked as a jewellery designer in London for 15 years, but when I moved to Ireland, I decided it was time for a change. I remembered my passion for languages, so I embarked on a transcription training course, which has led me to setting up my own transcription company. I have been exposed to different cultures and different languages from an early age. Therefore I appreciate the importance of being able to understand and make oneself understood. My superpower would be to be able to speak all the languages in the world and to help people communicate. That and teleportation!

An idea worth spreading

I love Amy Herman's TED@BCG talk "A lesson on looking", where she explains how art can enhance one's powers of perception. I found it totally inspiring.
