About Boukeline

Bio

I’m trained as a translator (at the Translation Academy in Maastricht, The Netherlands). Although this academy teaches technical translation, as a professional translator I’ve focused on translating novels: for years I have translated English romance novels by Mills & Boon into Dutch, through Harlequin Holland (part of HarperCollins Publishers). The last book I’ve worked on, is a Regency novella by a USA Today bestselling (independent) author. Apart from working as a translator, I’m also working as a transcriptionist. I enjoy typing (after having completed a secretary course in my early twenties), and, combined with my language skills, this makes me well suited for transcriptionist jobs. Recently I familiarised myself with closed captioning software, and started working (as a volunteer) subtitling Ted Talks. Finally, I’m a Dutch voice-over artist. I started doing voice-over projects around 2014, when I was editing video tutorials for an educational website. As I really liked working with my voice, I took classes in voice acting, to become a more rounded voice-over professional. Since 2010 my voice has been used in over 50 Dutch video tutorials, all about website building.
