Ion Zubizarreta

I am London-based native Spanish and Basque translator with four years of experience. I have a strong cinema background as I have studied cinema and cinema lighting, and I have worked as Gaffer and Director of Photography for more than five years on different film productions in the UK. Therefore, I am very familiar with film terminology, e.g. screenplay terms or film production jargon. Three years ago I finished (with Distinction) an Audiovisual Translation MA at City University London. Thanks to having the necessary knowledge and professional subtitling software (Swift Create), during the last three years, I have translated and subtitled different TV programmes broadcast on BBC Worldwide and Channel 4 and on Spanish television channels such as Cuatro, Antena 3, Discovery MAX, MTV Spain and the Basque public television channel ETB 1. At the moment I am happily working as a freelance translator, subtitler, transcriber and audio describer for some of the leading companies of the audiovisual translation field. I consider myself a hardworking and reliable professional, and I am grateful for doing a job that I enjoy and which gives me the chance to learn a bit more every day.
