An idea worth spreading
HEALTH IS NOT A MATTER ANYMORE OF DISEASE BUT OF WELL-BEING. We live in a world where healthcare is in crisis, and, based on the opinion of multiple experts, is because traditional doctors foster their studies on sick-care, on curing the disease and not on preventing the patient to get ill. So how these experts answer to the problem of reforming the healthcare system? Bring PREVENTION through LEARNING, spread HEALTH LITERACY so to promote and maintain good health. Explain to the patients how to live a more healthy and balanced lifestyle, reducing the risks of developing chronic diseases. Re-educate our western doctors on also complementary and alternative ways to improve their patients' well-being.
So, speaking in architectural terms, how is it possible that 70 years have passed from when WHO redefined health and hospitals are still the main typologies that are taking care about health? The thesis that I'm developing now is an investigation on what brings health in architecture and an experiment on creating a new building for which has prevention through learning in mind.
