Dolores is an Executive & Life coach with a strong entrepreneurial background. As a serial entrepreneur, Dolores spent 7 years as the Director of Online Entrepreneurial Education Software programs before launching her first business in 2004. She has since started multiple businesses in different industries and has worked with start up teams as a consultant/coach. Dolores has experience in marketing, communications, branding, project management, environmental industries, ewaste recyling and overall business strategy. Working with companies such as Fidelity Investments, Christies, Hyatt, NFTE, INEX Advisors and other organizations along her career. As a coach, Dolores focuses on the client’s goals to help them design and execute a strategy that will help them reach their objectives. Offering continuous support and encouraging her clients to explore new ways of dealing with situations, Dolores helps them break through pre-established limitations and grow both personally and professionally. Whether as a Coach, Entrepreneur, Marketing Professional, Start Up Executive, PR campaign, Project Manager or fulltime working mother of four children, it's Dolores' creativity and clear vision that allows her to succeed. What would you think if I said that the world is changing faster than we can process it. Human interaction is evolving at a pace never seen before, and that if we are not aware of this we might just become humanbots at the service of computers? In today's world we need to wake up to the fact the we are becoming more and more dominated by technology. We are limiting the time we spend eye to eye and replacing it with time eye on screen. We are loosing sight of our right brain and replacing it with more left brain activity delivered through the tip of our fingers. What we need is to wake up and place technology where it should be, at the service of humans. Technology should allow us to hug our children more often and replace the lightbulbs less; it should allow us to cuddle with a book in front of the fire surrounded by loved ones while the thermostat adjusts itself to the our needs in that moment. It will open up spaces for us to connect with our loved ones and feel loved.

I've been following TED for a few years. Last year, as I began a new job with a friend of mine that was starting a company we shared that we both were inspired by the TEDTalks. He had been thinking of hosting an event where we live, in New Bedford, and we began toying with the idea of hosting a TEDx event. And so it went, that we asked ourselves why not? and we began planning for TEDxNewBedford that took place in September 2012. That was my beginning with TED and I've enjoyed my journey so far. I must say the staff at TED is amazing, I've never worked with a team so responsive and in synch! I am now looking forward to flying to LA on Saturday 2/23/13 to be part of TEDActive for the first time. I know this journey is just beginning and I look forward to being on the TED stage myself one day sharing an idea worth spreading!
