I am deeply passionate about two things: translation and education.
Language is a vital window through which I understand the world. It is through English that I encountered TED, a platform that has been a lifelong companion. As an interpreter, I serve as a crucial link among Chinese, English, and some French and Germany, conveying not only the meaning but also the culture that lies beneath the words. I am honored to have participated as an interpreter in large-scale trade exhibitions, to have contributed to a major Sino-Russian logistics infrastructure project, and to have worked for three years in SNNU English News. I will continue to be an ambassador for linguistic and cultural exchange across various industries. This role is not only about serving others but also an invaluable opportunity for me to gain insights into diverse fields and to enrich my own life.
Education is my professional calling, and I am in my fourth year at DSAS. Beyond teaching English, I am particularly enthusiastic about organizing activities that stimulate students' potential and creativity. Here are some examples:
1. I support various student clubs, such as those focused on public welfare. I have led them to conduct research in four nursing homes for Alzheimer's patients in Wuxi and now club members are doing regular assistance programs in two of these facilities.
2. I guide students in designing their own research trips, enabling them to complete meaningful projects in an unfamiliar city within a week. One such example is the 'Week Without Walls Independent Projects,' which allows capable student leaders to plan trips, each with different research objectives. A trip to Sichuan aimed to explore folk music and musical instruments, while a trip to Guizhou was centered around the arts of feature minority.
I hope to see more meaningful activities like these flourish in education. I believe that education should be open, empowering, innovative, and aligned with the needs of society. I am dedicated to working towards this vision through my actions.
