What are you passionate about in your own life?
It is really strange but true to the grain that I have interests in things that are seemingly too unrelated to each other. I am rather going well with my academic life as I find myself on the topper’s list most times. But that does not give me the upbeat that I want. I love creating art with my guitar, playing football with mates, reading self-help books, public-speaking, debating, listening to old good music, and brainstorming new ideas. Brainstorming with a few friends gives birth to ideas that I never believe coming out from my mind. Brainstorming taught me one thing that everyone should know- “Great chances do not come in life themselves. They are always the unexpected results of what we have been thinking and doing in our living years.” That basically implies that we create our own future, knowingly or unknowingly.
I have made a few happy sacrifices that I am really glad that I did. I am not really into sparing a few hours of my day on virtual games, excessive activity on social media, watching movies (except the ones that help me grow). I would rather spend my time resting than allow something to manipulate my hopes and aspirations.
There are a few things that I love to do. One among them is my guitar. One can find me improving the same rhythm to perfection for hours on end. I have even recorded an alternative punk song of our own named “Empty” a few months earlier. I am in a musical group and we like calling ourselves “Cosmic Inflation”. It is always fun whenever we jam together. My taste of music is really abstract and I have never really known what music I actually like. I am still on the search.
Self-help books are an integral part of my life. Books like “The Secret”, “Think and Grow Rich”, “Miracles of Your Mind”, “The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari”, “The Leader Who Had No Title”, “Discover Your Destiny” and many more never fail to inspire me during times of adversity. I try to spend a good amount of time reiterating these books’ principles in my life. It really helps in understanding life better. These books remind me of one’s infinite capabilities. And I love meeting people who read such books and try to learn their perception of life as well. It is very truly told that the laws of the universe are very simple. But understanding such simple things from the soul is tough in today’s complicated world. Whoever remains in the magnetic field of these simple laws wins the game.
I happen to have immense passion in public-speaking and dream to become an inspirational speaker in the future. I have spoken a number of times at school, public competitions including debates and Model United Nations Conferences which have earned me a good amount of self-confidence in the field along with some awards. To be honest, I am really inspired by the substantial speaking of Indian speakers like Sandeep Maheshwari and Vivek Bindra. People like these two personalities have been successful in inspiring a nation like India. I aspire to become such an inspirational speaker in the future.
In spite of my ignorance towards television, I am an ardent lover of the TV Series “The Big Bang Theory”. I often dream of having such a lifestyle for myself. It is just, you know, awesome to be a researcher who knows Klingon. I remember spending a lot of time watching the show’s episodes on repeat. Even now, when I start watching the show, I do not shut it off before I spend a couple of hours on it.
It will be unfair if I skip to mention about my aspirations in entrepreneurship. Anyone may say that no entrepreneurs can be born out of a place with problems like Sivasagar. But, we often forget that problems are the breeding place for entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs know, “Where there is a problem, there is a way.” Hence, wherever people see problems, entrepreneurs see opportunity. The perks of living in Sivasagar is that you can get new ideas even during your walk to school or on the way back home. There are so many solvable problems. Entrepreneurs see gold in these problems. I feel extremely privileged to be a citizen from Sivasagar. And it is very encouraging to see the growing entrepreneurial circuit in North-East India.
I believe that the main aim of a human’s life is serving others. This can be very easily explained with arguments. All men and women come down to earth, live for a short amount of time and go away like dust in the wind. But among those particles of dust, there are a few seeds which leave their mark on their path by growing fruitful trees. The dust that blows away has no significance. But the mark of the seed that remains as the tree provides shade for the thirsty traveler, space for the romantic lovers and fruit for the hungry kids. Knowing the fact that one day, we will have to leave, it is clear that our main aim is to serve others. The service can be a few words of kindness, love, affection or a few helping bucks. It can be anything.
