TEDxDAIS Youth returned this year on 27th August with the thought-provoking theme “(in)visible” - an idea that brings us to look beyond what is immediately seen, and to recognise the ideas, people, stories, and forces that often remain unnoticed. In a world that is increasingly shaped by what captures our attention, the event asked the audience to pause and consider the unseen influences that shape our choices, identities and perspectives. We're surrounded by emotions, ideas, and experiences that go unnoticed all the time, or get misread when we do notice them. At the same time, things that appear obvious may conceal layers that are easy to miss. (in)visible was a nudge to remember that seeing something isn't the same as actually noticing it, and noticing isn't quite the same as truly observing it. The theme kept pulling us back to the stories we walked past without a second glance. Six speakers took the stage, each bringing their own lens to (in)visible: nutrition, journalism, architecture, psychology, literature. Different fields, but the same thread running through: the hidden forces behind the choices we make, the way we think, and the stories we tell. By the time the event wrapped up, "(in)visible" had done exactly what it set out to do — get us to look past the obvious and start noticing the perspectives we'd otherwise miss.

  • Anuj Singhal

    Journalist and TV anchor

    Introducing Anuj Singhal, a pioneering business journalist and stock market anchor, best known as the Managing Editor of CNBC-Awaaz and CNBC-Bajar.     Nutritionist

    Founder of MEALpyramid Nutrition & Wellness and author of The Athlete in You, Kinita Kadakia Patel is an award-winning authority in performance nutrition and metabolic health. With 15 years as the official Sports Nutritionist for the Mumbai Indians IPL team, she bridges elite athletic science with everyday sustainable wellness.

  • Maithili Raut

    Architect

    Maithili Raut is a co-founder and partner at reD Architects, a Mumbai-based design studio that prioritizes research while creating buildings and environments. Holding a Master’s degree in Architecture and Urban Design from Columbia University, she has worked in New York, Paris and Mumbai. Maithili Raut applies multidisciplinary methodologies to her work. Maithili Raut’s work spans from restoration projects, master planning exercises to India’s most famous luxury residences.

  • Rajvir Jagwani

    Student

    Rajvir Jagwani is a 17-year-old Grade 12 student at DAIS who is passionate about public speaking, debate, and making life a little easier for himself and those around him. An accomplished public speaker and debater, he has chaired over ten Model UN conferences and competed in more than twenty others, and served as Head Boy of JNS. When he’s not busy chairing a collegiate-level MUN, you can almost definitely find him at a nearby restaurant, with the excuse that he is contemplating how the menu could be optimised for maximum customer satisfaction. Curious, committed, and always ready with a smile, Rajvir brings a sort of contagious energy and extreme thoughtfulness to everything he takes on. He approaches everything with confidence, and aims to turn all his ideas into tangible action to leave whatever he touches a little better than he found it.

  • Richa Chauhan

    Teacher

    For over 15 years, Ms. Richa Chauhan has devoted herself to helping young people understand not just psychology, but themselves. Her journey through leading international schools — including Singapore International School, Mumbai, and École Mondiale World School — has shaped her into an educator who sees teaching as an act of care as much as instruction. Today, at Dhirubhai Ambani International School, Mumbai, she serves as Psychology and TOK Educator, Psychology Subject Lead, and Pastoral Lead for DP1, where she nurtures curious minds and steady hearts, helping students navigate both academic rigour and the deeper questions of growing up.

  • Sukriti YJ

    Writer and Producer

    Sukriti, a DAIS alumna, is an author, screenwriter, entrepreneur, and founder of Unibrow Stories. A graduate of the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Nonfiction from Columbia University, her work has been published in leading international publications including Vox, Quartz, The Hindu, and The Times of India. Through her writing, she explores themes of identity, culture, and belonging, creating stories that resonate across audiences and spark meaningful conversations. Her work reflects a deep commitment to thoughtful storytelling, intellectual curiosity, and the power of words to connect people and ideas.
