Monterey Park sits at the heart of the San Gabriel Valley, often called the first suburban Chinatown and one of the first cities in the continental United States where Asian Americans became the majority. It is a place built and rebuilt by immigrants, defined by reinvention, and shaped by a community that keeps finding ways to move forward. TEDxMontereyPark: Reimagining Tomorrow brings that spirit to the stage. Across a single afternoon, local voices will explore what the future can look like when we choose to build rather than simply rebuild. The program moves through three threads woven into this community's story: resilience and healing in the wake of hardship, education and opportunity for first-generation and immigrant students, and culture and identity in one of the most diverse regions in the country. You will hear from students, researchers, artists, community members, and everyday people with something worth saying, some taking a stage for the very first time. Together they ask a simple question: what does tomorrow look like, and who gets to reimagine it? Join us on Saturday, February 27, 2027 at the ELAC Recital Hall for a day of ideas worth spreading, right here at home.
