Adrián Flores
Elementary school student
Adrián Flores is a respectful, humble, and easygoing 12-year-old sixth grader who is always willing to lend a hand. He is especially drawn to logic, reasoning, and problem-solving, and he enjoys taking on new challenges. Adrián believes big dreams grow step by step. His passion for mathematics led him to represent Guatemala at the NEO Science Olympiad in New York, earning a bronze medal as the only Latin American student in his grade. Guided by his formula, Dream + Step + Repeat equals progress, his journey to Harvard and MIT fuels his commitment to keep learning and moving toward what once felt impossible.
Javier Fernández
High school student
Javier Fernández is a dedicated violinist and an IGA student whose passion for music began at seven. Through years of practice and performance, he’s explored how playing an instrument strengthens attention, discipline, and emotional connection. He sees music as a transformative force that shapes identity and builds community.
Mariana Caballeros

Mariana Caballeros, a sixteen‑year‑old student at IGA School, is passionate, empathetic, and thoughtful. She enjoys sports, traveling, and spending time with family and friends, whose support has helped shape her identity. Dedicated to science and literature, Mariana aspires to one day contribute to something greater.
Miguel Meléndez
High school student
Miguel Ángel Meléndez Vázquez is a passionate student dedicated to science, service, and projects that create positive change. He led Murales que dan Vida, using art and sustainability to teach children about environmental challenges, and he competed twice in the Diamond Challenge with solutions to real‑world problems. With perseverance and discipline, he aspires to a career in medicine to expand access to education and health information for underserved communities.
Saraí Cadona
High school student
From an early age, Saraí has embraced service, gratitude, and curiosity as guiding values in her life. These principles inspire her to support her family and friends. At school, her love of learning motivates her to explore new ideas and contribute to a collaborative environment where curiosity is celebrated.
Sophia Gudiel

Sophia Gudiel is an outgoing and fun person who loves connecting with the people around her. Passionate about art and history, she is drawn to stories with deep, sentimental meaning that reveal the purpose behind what people create. Sophia approaches life with an open mind, seeing every mistake not as a failure, but as a chance to learn and grow. Whether she is playing the piano, painting, or exploring new creative ideas, she brings energy, curiosity, and authenticity to everything she does.
Valentín Marroquín
Sixth Grader Student
Valentín is a fifth-grade student known for his contagious smile and positive energy. He's just as much a team player on the soccer field as he is in the classroom, where he always encourages his classmates and leads by example. His friends know him as someone they can count on: he is respectful, down-to-earth, and genuinely kind. Through his experiences, Valentín has learned that success isn't only about winning; it's also about giving your best and not letting self-doubt hold you back. Valentín hopes to inspire other children to believe in themselves and pursue their goals with determination.
