Unlocking Nizwa’s Hidden Treasures MANDOUS is a TEDxShababSt experience in Nizwa that explores the hidden resources, stories, talents, and opportunities embedded within the city and its surroundings. Inspired by the traditional Omani Mandous — a chest that preserves valuable possessions — the event looks at Nizwa as a Mandous of its own: rich with heritage, natural resources, craftsmanship, knowledge, and human potential. Through entrepreneurship, dialogue, storytelling, and hands-on experiences, MANDOUS brings these treasures to the surface and asks a simple question: What can we create when we look at what we already have differently? The experience connects young people with local resources and successful stories, encouraging them to transform what is available around them into ideas, ventures, experiences, and new economic opportunities. From natural resources and traditional crafts to tourism, local knowledge, and emerging talent, MANDOUS celebrates the potential that already exists — while empowering a new generation to reimagine its value.
