In this era where everyone is talking but fewer and fewer people are truly heard, we would like to invite you to rediscover an underestimated ability - deep listening. It doesn't receive applause, doesn't make it to the trending list, and can't prove its value immediately in a conversation. But it is this quiet power that determines whether we can understand each other, repair relationships, see beyond biases and discover the truth, and even hear ourselves amidst the noise. The TEDxShenzhen Yadi School Event "Deep Listening: The Silent Superpower" will bring together speakers and performers from various fields, using stories, research, and on-site experiences, to explore how listening can become a superpower: how it can transform a conversation, an organization, a city, and the way we relate to ourselves. This time, we won't rush to express ourselves. We'll just sit down and listen.

I am deeply grateful to my English teacher, Mrs. Pan Wenjing, who has always encouraged me to speak boldly. Outside class, I enjoy making handicrafts and singing. Handicrafts build my creativity and patience, while singing lets me express my emotions freely.

    I'm Zhang Ruihan from Class 805. My English name is Coco. I am an energetic and passionate girl. I’m warm-hearted and always ready to help people around me. I respect my teachers and encourage classmates to turn to teachers for problems without any delay. I have taken part in many wonderful English activities, including APEC programs and Little Diplomat contests. I love reading and math, and I often bury myself in interesting books. In my spare time, I also watch English series like So Awkward to practise and improve my oral English.

I consider myself a responsible and approachable educator who values mutual trust and open communication with students.

    Warren is a 11-year-old boy and studies at Shenzhen Yadi School, where English is his favorite subject. Warren also loves English public speaking because it allows him to express his ideas with confidence and joy. He lives in a warm family with his parents, grandparents, and his 16-year-old brother. Outside the classroom, Warren enjoys soccer, a sport that helps him build teamwork. Warren is curious, friendly, and always eager to share new ideas with others.
