He has also been recognized among the National Trial Lawyers Top 100. These honors highlight his ongoing commitment to community. Why Galen M. Hair? Galen grew up in Arlington, Texas, and remembers the amazing summers at Six Flags, Rangers games, and the community that exists in a big Texas 5A school. He remembers the tornado drills. The question every child secretly asks: “Is this real?” And then one day, it was. When a tornado eradicated his neighborhood, he witnessed something that would change him forever: neighbors helping neighbors, strangers volunteering, families rebuilding not because they had resources, but because they had each other.

    Margarita E. Velasquez, MBA is a motivational speaker, author, and resilience advocate whose journey of surviving a life-threatening childhood illness inspired her mission to help others navigate adversity with hope, courage, and purpose. Raised in South Texas by Mexican and Salvadoran parents, Margarita transformed painful and unexpected chapters of her life into a message centered on resilience, authenticity, self-worth, and personal growth. Through vulnerability, warmth, and storytelling, she encourages audiences to recognize that difficult moments do not diminish a person’s value, but can instead become the foundation for strength, healing, and transformation. As a trilingual communications professional fluent in English, Spanish, and American Sign Language, Margarita is passionate about empowering youth and communities through conversations surrounding overcoming adversity, mental wellness, and embracing one’s authentic self.
