  Hiroki Hiramatsu is an urban sustainability consultant working to transform cities and public spaces into more human-centered and environmentally responsive environments. Drawing on global certification systems such as LEED and WELL, he advises on the design of buildings, public spaces, and communities that prioritize both sustainability and human well-being. Alongside his professional work, he advocates for alternative ways of living that reconnect people with nature and their own sense of freedom. By rethinking where and how we live, he invites us to explore a more balanced and instinctive relationship with the world around us.

  Physician exploring empathy through music and storytelling

  Kozue Kodama is a family physician working in community-based and home care medicine in Japan. Through years of caring for patients in their own homes, she began to question whether medicine truly listens to the lives behind illness. This led her to explore narrative medicine, an approach that values people’s stories as an essential part of care. Combining medicine, music, and AI, she has developed an experimental project that transforms patients’ life stories into original musical compositions. By turning personal memories and experiences into sound, her work explores new possibilities for empathy, dignity, and human connection in healthcare. Her perspective challenges us to rethink healing not only as treatment, but as the act of deeply listening to another person’s life.

  Creative director and visual artist

  Michiyuki Ishita is a creative director, visual artist, and spatial designer exploring how light can reveal hidden value in people, places, and communities. Through large-scale light festivals, projection mapping projects, and immersive public events in Japan and internationally, he creates experiences that transform how people perceive familiar spaces. His work often focuses on revitalizing communities by illuminating stories, emotions, and local identities that might otherwise go unnoticed. Blending art, technology, and human emotion, he continues to explore how visual experiences can reconnect people with wonder, memory, and a deeper sense of place.

  Founder of THE WILL and educator exploring new forms of learning

  Shohei Kawaguchi is the founder of THE WILL, an alternative school created from his vision of what education could become. Questioning traditional systems built around fixed answers and standardized paths, he set out to build a learning environment where curiosity, dialogue, and individual growth are placed at the center. Through deep conversations with students and the use of AI as a reflective tool, he explores new ways of supporting each child’s unique journey. His work asks a simple but powerful question: what happens when we create the kind of school we once wished existed ourselves?

  Tomoki Suzuki is a marine studies student with a deep passion for fish and the ocean. Growing up in a town without access to the sea, his life changed after a single fishing experience sparked a lasting curiosity about marine life. After struggling with school attendance in his early years, his passion for fish became a turning point that led him back into the world. He pursued his interest through a fisheries high school and later at a specialized marine school in Miura, where he immersed himself in hands-on learning. Today, he collaborates with others to create opportunities for people to connect through fishing, organizing community events that bring together those who share a love for the ocean. Through his story, he explores how a simple passion can transform a life—and create connections beyond oneself.
