Ibrahim Zanna Sunoma
Founder, Action With SCRAF (Sunoma Child Right Advocacy Foundation)
Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Zanna Sunoma was born in 2010 in Bama, Borno State at the precise epicentre of the Boko Haram insurgency, into a world that had already decided children should be silent. He refused. At nine, he began organising children across conflict-affected communities with nothing but conviction. That conviction carried him to the speakership of the Borno State Children’s Parliament, where he led the campaign that successfully domesticated the Child Rights Act, a law adults had failed to pass for years. He has since represented African children at the African Union Peace and Security Council, shaped international communiqués at the CAAC Conference in Nairobi, and spoken on global stages from Addis Ababa to Morocco. He is the Founder of SCRAF, Deputy Speaker of the Nigerian National Children’s Parliament, Global Campaign Adviser for Save the Children International, and a stunning example of the boundless potential that young people carry when given a chance.
