Alexander Murta
International Student
Alexander Murta is a 13-year-old student from the USA and a speaker at the TEDx St. Peter’s International School Youth Event. He hopes to share his personal experience with bullying and how he found a sense of belonging in his community. Having faced exclusion in the past, Alexander is passionate about helping others navigate similar challenges and offering reassurance that everyone matters and has a meaningful role to play.
Anastasia Dmitrevskaya
International Student
Anastasia Dmitrevskaya is a student in the International Baccalaureate programme in Portugal who was born in Russia and lived there for the first ten years of her life before moving abroad. Although she has adapted to life in Portugal, she remains closely connected to her roots and returns to Russia every summer. In her free time, she enjoys creative hobbies such as drawing and crocheting, as well as running, reading, and watching educational videos, especially TED Talks. Her interest in speaking events began at her previous school, St Peter’s National Curriculum, where a similar event inspired her curiosity but felt too intimidating to join. After moving into the international system and seeing her friends organise this event, she felt more confident to take the opportunity and hopes the experience will help her grow more comfortable with public speaking while sharing her story.
Cindy Santana
International Student
Cindy Santana is a speaker at the TEDx St. Peter’s International School Youth Event. Originally from Shanghai, China, she moved to Portugal in 2016 and has grown up between cultures, an experience that has strongly shaped her worldview. In her free time, she enjoys visiting museums, reading, and taking time to slow down and appreciate moments such as watching sunsets. Through her talk, she hopes to share her perspective as a global citizen and reflect on the insights gained from living across different cultures.
Heloísa Sikler
International Student
Heloísa Sikler is a 12th-grade Science and Technology student and a speaker at the TEDx St. Peter’s International School Youth Event. Originally from Brazil, she moved to Portugal at age 10, an experience that gives her a personal perspective on the event’s theme of diverse stories and nationalities. Passionate about public speaking, Heloísa is active in the Drama Club and has participated in Toastmasters, and she looks forward to sharing her insights and experiences with the audience.
Ivan Kruchinin
International Student
Ivan Kruchinin is an IB1 student at St. Peter’s International School and a speaker at the TEDx Youth Event. Born in Russia, he moved to Portugal in 2023, bringing a fresh international perspective to his new community. Passionate about sailing, biking, and competitive swimming, Ivan is taking part in the event to challenge himself and hopes that sharing his story will inspire others to take risks and push their own boundaries.
Priscila Da Costa
International Student
Priscila is an IB2 student originally from Angola, now living in Portugal, and a speaker at the TEDx St. Peter’s International School Youth Event. Having studied in multiple international schools and travelled widely, she has been exposed to diverse cultures and perspectives. In her free time, she enjoys photography and listening to music, and she hopes to share her insights and contribute to meaningful global conversations through her talk.
Sophia Pearce
International Student
Sophia Pearce is a British student born in Shanghai, China, with a Russian mother and British father, and a speaker at the TEDx St. Peter’s International School Youth Event. Having attended schools in multiple countries, she has grown up with a rich multicultural perspective. Passionate about music and helping others, she enjoys understanding both people and herself.
Sophie Roepke
International Student
Sophie Roepke is a 14-year-old Brazilian student and a speaker at the TEDx St. Peter’s International School Youth Event. Born in Vitória, Brazil, she moved to Portugal at age 7 and has since travelled extensively, experiences that shaped her understanding of different cultures and communities. In her free time, Sophie enjoys drawing, sculpting, crocheting, listening to music, and reading mystery and thriller books. She is excited to step out of her comfort zone through this TEDx event, share her perspective, and learn from the experiences of others.
Vera Zhou
International Student
Yongxuan Zhou is a 16-year-old IG1 student at St. Peter’s International School. Born in China, she moved to Portugal at age 12, an experience that shaped her international perspective. In her free time, Yongxuan enjoys traditional Chinese dance, which she has practised for ten years, as well as watching debates and exploring art. She joined TEDx to share her ideas, learn from others, and inspire meaningful conversations.
