Yago González
Artist, IB Student
I was born in New York in 2008. When I was two months old, my family moved to Spain. At seven, I independently solved the same mathematical challenge famously mastered by Gauss at that age, impressing my mathematics teacher with my intuitive numerical reasoning. I began studying the viola at six, and by eleven I was performing at the Auditorio Nacional. When I was 15, I spent a year in the US, in a host family, which provided me with a full immersion in US culture and education. During that time, I qualified for the United States national swimming championships, representing the state of Washington and finishing seventh in its division. I also earned sixth place in the U.S. national mathematical thinking competition. I am currently pursuing the International Baccalaureate while training daily with the ambition of becoming a high-performance athlete, continuing to blend academic excellence with athletic discipline.
