He is a Member of the UT Advisory Council and Panchkula Development Committee. He was conferred with Maharaja Ranjit Singh Chair of Excellence in Panjab University and has been invited as commentator, panellist and guest speaker on electronic media, universities and think tanks. He has commanded Sikkim Corps having borders with four countries including the Siliguri corridor, the Armoured Division and the first T-90 Armoured Brigade. He has served in insurgency and conflict-prone areas like J&K, Punjab, North East and LWE. He has steered key Perspective planning, Capability building, HR and Defence Diplomacy desks in Army HQ. • Prof (Dr.) SS Malini

  Chairperson - Department of Genetics and Genomics

  Prof. Suttur S Malini, Chairperson, Department of Genetics and Genomics, University of Mysore, has been teaching and doing research from past 24 years and has conducted extensive research on genetic disorder, male infertility, infertility and obesity, PCOD, diabetes and its relationship to infertility. She has received more than one and half crores financial assistance from various funding agencies such as UGC, ICMR, DBT, BARC. Prof. Suttur S Malini teaches genetics, cytology, anthropogenetics, Molecular biology etc for students. 14 students have been awarded Ph.D under the guidance of Prof. Suttur S Malini and also 8 students have completed M.Phil, more than 90 M.Sc., students have completed major project. She has written books on genetic diseases, cancer, sexual health of men and women in kannada. These books are published by Sapnabook House Bangalore.
