Using the metaphor of scissors, she explores how small actions can divide or heal, urging us to choose connection over destruction.

  Evan, a student from GEMS Millennium School, Sharjah, delivers a witty and heartfelt exploration of how friends become the invisible narrators of our lives. Using humor—and a mountain of salt—as his metaphor, Evan reflects on how these moments reveal his own personality: sarcastic, caring, and authentic. Through writing and public speaking, she explores stories that spark curiosity and connection. She is also an active debater and speaker who has a flair for classic literature.

• Jewel Mariam Jacob

  Jewel, a passionate public speaker from Our Own Sharjah girls, believes deeply in the power of words to create awareness and inspire change. In her TEDx talk, “The Dress That Didn’t Fit,” she explores themes of body image, self-worth, and the silent struggles many face in pursuit of acceptance. Through personal stories and gentle humor, she reminds us that true confidence comes not from fitting in, but from embracing who we are, unapologetically..

• Joanna Lilian Zachariah

  Joanna Lilian, a Grade 12 student from GEMS Millennium Sharjah, is deeply passionate about psychology, storytelling, and understanding the human experience. Aspiring to blend medicine with psychology, she hopes to care for both the body and the mind. Beyond academics, Joanna finds joy in music, RJ-ing, swimming, and capturing life’s moments through her lens. In her TEDx talk, “My Emergency Triage – PCM,” she shares how confronting her emotions taught her that opening up is one of the bravest things we can do—a reminder that vulnerability is strength in its purest form.

  Meeca Lolith is a 15-year-old student leader and the President of the Student Council at GEMS Legacy School. Once shy and nervous about speaking in front of others, she has grown into a confident communicator who now finds joy in public speaking. A passionate reader, she loves exploring new ideas through books, which continues to shape her perspective and fuel her creativity. Her interests extend to environmental sustainability, gender equality, and empowering young voices to make a difference. Meeca’s journey reflects her belief that challenges can be transformed into strengths, and she continues to inspire others through her leadership and advocacy.

  A creative thinker from Grade 11 at The Millennium School, Dubai, Pranav draws inspiration in art and reading, where imagination and reflection often meet. Eager to enhance his public speaking and critical thinking skills, he joined TEDx to explore new perspectives and express ideas with impact.
