  • Claudi Bokting

    Prof. Clinical Psychology

    Claudi Bockting is a Professor of Clinical Psychology in Psychiatry at AmsterdamUMC at the University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and co-founder/director of the Centre for Urban Mental Health. She is developer of Preventive Cognitive Therapy (PCT), an effective psychological intervention that reduces relapse risk in depression. She wrote Preventive Cognitive Therapy for Depression: An evidence based approach to reduce relapse risk in 2025 with Guilford Press. Her research focuses on finding potentially modifiable factors that can be targeted with innovative interventions to prevent or treat depression, anxiety, and suicidality. She is a author of more than 200 peer-reviewed publications in journals such as Nature, JAMA Psychiatry, and Lancet Psychiatry. She is the recipient of an honorary doctorate from the University of Basel, and fellowships at the Beck Institute (USA), and the World Health Organization. She is an elected membership in the European Academy of Sciences and Arts.

    Maarten’s story is one of resilience and inspiration. He won an Olympic gold medal in 2008 in open-water swimming, after he was diagnosed with leukemia in 2001. By swimming the famous Dutch Elfstedentocht, Maarten raised almost 18 million euros for cancer research.

    Salvador Santino Regilme is a Filipino-born Dutch professor of international relations based in the Netherlands, specializing in foreign aid, human rights, international development, and global inequalities. Educated in the Philippines, the United States, and Germany, he has spent nearly two decades studying how powerful states use aid and security assistance to shape everyday life in the Global South. He is the author of Aid Imperium and Aid for Dominance, which uncover how “assistance” can both uphold and dismantle systems of domination.
