• Ada Çakır

  Grade 9 student at SEV American College

  Hello, my name is Ada Çakır, and I am a 9th-grade student at SEV American College. I’m currently 15 years old and will be turning 16 on September 25th. I grew up with undiagnosed ADHD in a fast-paced generation, and for a long time, I didn’t even know my own homeland's language because I learned English first. I have a strong interest in psychology and hope to become a forensic psychologist and profiler one day.

• Aras Özer

  Grade 10 Student at Eyüboğlu Schools

  Aras Özer was born and raised in Istanbul. Living with undiagnosed ADHD for most of his life, he often felt different from his peers. At the age of 13, he was officially diagnosed with ADHD, which gave him a new sense of self-awareness. Prior to that, he had been misdiagnosed by a psychiatrist as "free of ADHD," which only made things more difficult—especially while preparing for the LGS exam at the end of 8th grade. Since his diagnosis, Aras has been determined to learn more about ADHD—not only to improve his own life, but also to support others who may be unknowingly struggling with the disorder. His 10th-grade Personal Project, titled “The Psychological Effect of ADHD on Children,” reflects this commitment and highlights his dedication to improving the quality of life in his community.

• Can Pehlivan

  Grade 10 Student at Eyüboğlu Schools

  Can Pehlivan is a student at Eyüboğlu, born in Istanbul and raised across three countries with vastly different cultures. He spent his early years in Istanbul before moving to New York City, where he lived for three years and developed English as his primary language. He then moved to Dubai, a truly cosmopolitan environment that exposed him to a wide range of perspectives and cultures—shaping his understanding of society in a deep and unique way. Now back in Istanbul, he brings a global lens to local issues.

• Derin Şişman

  Grade 10 Student at Eyüboğlu Schools

  I am a student at Eyüboğlu High School who is interested in mindfulness and well-being, especially on how they affect young people. I have worked on a mindfulness book for middle school students, focusing on practical techniques to reduce stress. I also participate in Model United Nations conferences, where I have learned to stay calm and think clearly under pressure. Through this talk, I want to show that pressure isn’t something to fear—it’s something we can use to grow.

  Currently an IBDP 2 student at Eyuboglu High School. Planning to major in computer science in the U.S. next year, and aiming to partake in research regarding the combination of CS with mathematics and AI.

• Gözde Çerçioğlu Yücel

  Sociologist & Project Development Expert at Eyüboğlu Schools

  Gözde Çerçioğlu Yücel is a sociologist with a PhD, specializing in social structures and dynamics. With a deep passion for both education and cultural exploration, Gözde has dedicated her career to understanding and addressing the complex issues that shape contemporary society. Her academic background, including her research on the emergence of private art museums in Turkey, has equipped her with a unique lens to analyze societal trends, particularly within the realms of education, social change, and cultural expression.

• Heriberto Soto

  Spanish Teacher at Eyüboğlu Schools

  I am a Venezuelan educator, athlete, and world traveler who has spent years navigating life under pressure, both in and outside my comfort zone. My experiences range from competing for 12 years on Venezuela’s national karate team, where I learned firsthand how pressure can drive performance, to teaching Spanish in an international school in Turkey, where cultural adaptation and professional challenges tested my resilience in new ways.

• Sezin Kuşcu

  Grade 12 Students at Eyüboğlu Schools

  Born and raised in Istanbul. Currently in her last year of high school as an IBDP student at Eyüboğlu High School. Aspiring to major in physics with a strong interest in theoretical research and experimental applications of astrophysics and quantum mechanics.

• Yağmur Eren

  Grade 10 student at Üsküdar American Academy

  I am Yağmur Eren, I was born in İstanbul/Turkey. I am an IB student at Üsküdar American Academy. Before UAA, I was a student at Eyüboğlu for nine years. I am passionate about volleyball, problem-solving, helping individuals who don't have the same opportunities in education as me, organizing events, creating innovative projects, coding and game design, learning, and mathematics.
