Dr. Balwinder Singh
Public health Expert
Dr. Balwinder Singh is a public health expert with 25+ years of experience, currently serving at the WHO Country Office in Nepal. A medical doctor with master’s degrees in public health and public administration, he is an alumnus of Foundation Mérieux and the University of Geneva’s ADVAC program. At WHO, he leads Nepal’s Immunization Preventable Diseases programme, focusing on surveillance, system strengthening, and outbreak response. His expertise includes new vaccine introduction, polio eradication, routine immunization, vaccine safety, and health emergencies. He recently guided the nationwide HPV vaccine rollout, reaching 1.4M adolescent girls, and strengthened Nepal’s VPD surveillance network. His career spans India, Myanmar, Bangladesh, and Nepal, with contributions to missions in DPR Korea, Indonesia, France, and Geneva. Widely respected for combining field experience with policy insight, he advances health equity and protects vulnerable populations across the region.

Sweta Rajpal
Hematopathologist
Dr. Sweta Rajpal is a hematopathologist, currently serving as Associate Professor at the Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai, one of South Asia’s premier cancer hospitals. She obtained an MD in Pathology and a DM in Hematopathology, followed by a Fellowship in Molecular Hemaoto-oncology. She is proficient in diagnosis of hematological malignancies using peripheral blood and bone marrow morphology, flow cytometric immunophenotyping, and molecular diagnostics, with a strong focus on pediatric and adult leukemia. With profound contributions in cutting-edge research and publications as well as training the future generation of doctors in evolving advancements in oncology, Dr. Sweta’s story exemplifies impactful innovation and relentless dedication in the field of in cancer research.
