TEDxChouaibDoukkaliU is an independent, non-profit event licensed by the organization behind the TED conferences. The purpose of this event is to share new ideas, solutions, research findings, and breakthroughs from various disciplines to make a positive impact on our community. This year’s TEDx theme, "Evolving Perspectives," focuses on rethinking established ideas and embracing new ways of understanding the world. Through diverse talks from leading experts, the event highlights the need to cultivate reflective thinking in education, promote ethical and sustainable media practices, and examine identity and feminism within global power dynamics. The objective is to challenge assumptions and spark meaningful dialogue that inspires transformation.

  • Daniel MARA

    Full Professor, Dean, Researcher, ERASMUS+ Coordinator, Project Manager, and Author in Inclusive and Non-Formal Education.

    Daniel Mara (PhD) is a full Professor and Dean at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of the Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, Romania, authorized to conduct doctorates in the field of Educational Sciences. His main scientific fields are inclusive education, non- formal education, differentiated pedagogy, curriculum adaptation, cognitive and metacognitive intervention and training of trainers. In these fields he has held positions as project manager, member of research or training teams and coordinator of ERASMUS+ programs, as well as member of national and international associations and societies. He has also produced numerous single-authored, coordinated and collaborative scientific papers to support the work of teachers and educators.

  • Minodora Sălcudean

    Full Professor, Researcher in Communication Sciences, Author, and International Project Collaborator.

    Minodora Sălcudean (PhD) is a full professor at the Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, Romania, and a researcher in Communication Sciences, with a particular interest in the study of phenomena associated with mass communication, journalism and the media. Member of international project teams such as SDGs Journalism Reporting and InMedia that ended in 2023. Associate researcher within the Ecojust and Corecon, both of them being research projects, currently taking place in Romania. Author of scientific articles on the interference of journalism with social networks, the role and responsibilities of journalists during crisis, aspects of hate speech in the Romanian media, etc. Member of the international team of the Horizon project - Rethinking Co-creation of Digital and Environmental Policy in Systems of Multilevel Governance (RECODE MLG)

  • Raja RHOUNI

    Full Professor and Researcher in Islamic Feminism, and Cultural Studies

    Raja RHOUNI (PhD) is a full professor at the department of English, Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences, Chouaib Doukkali University, El Jadida, Morocco. She is the author of Secular and Islamic Feminist Critiques in the Work of Fatima Mernissi (Leiden and New York: Brill, 2010), and a number of articles and book chapters on feminist thought in Morocco and Islamic feminism. Rhouni is the recipient of several international grants, such as a postdoctoral fellowship in the research program "Europe in the Middle East – The Middle East in Europe," of the Berlin Institute for Advanced Study, Berlin, Germany (2006-2007), or the Junior Fellowship grant from the Institute for the Study of Islamic Thought in Africa (ISITA), Program of African Studies, Northwestern University, Evanston, United States. She is currently a member of the Fatema Mernissi Chair, HEM and Mohammed V University, Rabat, Morocco. She is also a member of the ALCS Laboratory at Chouaib Doukkali University.
