• Madison Graboyes

  Madison Graboyes is the Lead Programming Coordinator for LitWorld. LitWorld’s mission is to use the power of story to cultivate literacy skills in the world’s most vulnerable children. LitWorld advocates for literacy as an urgent human right that belongs to everyone. A graduate of NYU, Madison launched Girls LitClubs, LitWorld’s literacy and empowerment workshops for vulnerable youth worldwide, in both New York City and Accra, Ghana, before joining the LitWorld team full-time in the summer of 2011. She currently focuses on the expansion of Girls LitClubs nationally and internationally, the Foundations for Literate Youth project in Harlem, NY, and LitWorld's summer LitCamp program.

• Don Proffit

  Don Proffit’s view on the isolation of the outsider and the powerful role the arts and ethics play in defining inclusive communities empowers his ability to promote atmospheres of acceptance and openness in the schools and organizations in which he works. As a professional musician, Don has served as accompanist to Martha Graham and Alvin Ailey (back in the day). An infrequent composer and painter, Don realizes the social and therapeutic benefit of the arts for all of us. He believes that meaningful and life-changing engagement is always possible when you establish a safe and honest environment for conversation and collaboration.

• Adejire Bademosi

  Adejire Bademosi is a sophomore at Boston College majoring in International Studies. A Maryland Native, Adejire has been an advocate for over 12 years. Much of her experience comes from her political positions in the county, state, and international levels. In 2008, Adejire became the first African American woman elected as a student on the Howard County School Board with partial voting rights representing over 250,000 people. In 2009, Adejire taught students in Bulgaria the importance of civic engagement through developing and moderating an simulation. In 2010, Adejire was recognized by the White Ribbon Alliance for her commitment towards empowering girls and women. Currently, Adejire is the Executive Director of the FoundHer Program and the Taking Back the F-Word Symposium. Both programs leverage community resources and talents to empower girls and women to become leaders across sectors.

• Nikhil Goyal

  Nikhil Goyal is a student at Syosset High School in New York, United States. He wrote a book: All Hands on Deck: Why America Needs a Learning Revolution to be published in September 2012. Goyal writes for the Huffington Post, guest blogs for the New York Times, and contributes to NBC Education Nation. In addition, he is an international speaker and is starting a Learning Revolution movement to shake up the American education system.

• Chrissy McCabe

  Chrissy McCabe is currently a senior in High School. In the fall of 2009 she started Broadcast Journalism classes. Last year, Chrissu, and her camera, traveled to both the Canadian Arctic and Antarctica with Students on Ice. Upon her return, Chrissy used the footage she captured in both polar regions to create a short 4 minute documentary piece. Since the expedition she has been working with fellow expeditions members on the creation of the group Carbon Neutral Antarctica. Chrissy believes that we can tap into our media world to broaden our advocacy for issues in the world.
