어린 소녀로서, 뉴스 저널의 사진작가이자 테드 팔로워인 키트라 카하나는, 집에서 달아나 길에서 자유로운 삶을 살아가는 꿈을 꾸었다. 지금은 성인으로서, 자기 자신을 방랑자라 일컫는 그녀는 현대의 유목민들을 따라 박스카, 버스 정류장, 주차장, 휴게소 화장실에서 생활을 하며 그들의 삶과 문화를 잠깐동안 살펴 본다.
