Self-described control freak Gabriela Roa thought she had everything under control when her son was born -- little did she know what it was like to live with a toddler. Initially, she tried to fight back against her son's messiness, but learned a surprising lesson when she decided to start embracing it. After studying the way in which chaos can spark creativity, she began sharing photographs and short tales inspired by the colorful chaos of her child's everyday activities.
About the speaker

Gabriela Roa
Imperfectionist
With her passion for technology and systems, Gabriela Roa built a career managing IT projects at PVH. Through three years of observing kids at play, Gabriela has learned to connect with her child while discovering her own creativity. As a result, she plays the cello, improvises Latin-American music, and started a group called “Entrelazos” where she works with musicians without formal training to perform for charity events. Gabriela studied Languages and International Organizations at Andes University in her home country of Venezuela.
About TED Institute
Every year, TED works with a group of select companies and foundations to identify internal ideators, inventors, connectors, and creators. Drawing on the same rigorous regimen that has prepared speakers for the TED main stage, TED Institute works closely with each partner, overseeing curation and providing intensive one-on-one talk development to sharpen and fine tune ideas. The culmination is an event produced, recorded, and hosted by TED, generating a growing library of valuable TED Talks that can spur innovation and transform organizations.
