自分を自分たらしめるものとは何か。心理学者はなにかと、人の特性や、その人を特徴づける性質を定義したものを持ち出します。しかしブライアン・リトルが注目するのは、文化として求められる場合や、自らそうせざるを得ない場合も含め、人がこういった特性を超えて振る舞うケースです。このトークでは、リトル博士が内向型人間と外向型人間の違いに切り込み、人の性格は自分で思っているよりも変幻自在なものであると言えるのはなぜかを解説します。
