Vital HIV clinical trials in developing countries often leave vulnerable participants stranded once the studies end. Celine, a woman from rural Cameroon, received life-saving treatment during a trial but lost access afterward, unable to afford travel or medication. While such trials can advance global HIV care, they risk exploitation without proper consent, fair standards, and post-trial support. Ethical safeguards are essential to ensure those most affected by disease are not left behind.
