MOOCs（大規模網路開放課程）在 2013 這一年可說十分熱門；不過儘管數據龐大，也受到高度期盼，初步結果卻教人失望。但 edX 的負責人安納特．阿加瓦爾提出理由說明 MOOCs 仍相當重要。也許不能取代傳統教室，卻能廣泛地提供進階學習的共享機會，還能補足教室不足之處。他還分享對混合學習的期望，還有教師可以此方式為 21 世紀的學生創造理想的學習經驗。



Education has remained largely unchanged for centuries, but technology is starting to revolutionize how students learn. In one online course, 155,000 students from 162 countries enrolled, surpassing the total alumni of a major university. By blending online exercises, instant feedback, and in-person collaboration, classrooms can move from passive lectures to active, creative spaces. Early experiments show that blending these models can dramatically lower failure rates and boost engagement.
