Rwanda’s transformation since the 1994 genocide owes much to women who survived unthinkable trauma and then helped rebuild the country. Women now make up 61 percent of Rwanda’s parliament, the highest in the world, and have driven advances like a 75 percent drop in child mortality. Empowering women in education and leadership not only uplifts individuals but also strengthens entire communities. This approach is reshaping health, governance, and hope for future generations.
