Bio
Originally from Northern Ireland, Perry is a 33 year veteran of the video game business and spoke at TED 2006 about the future of video games.
As a game developer, he's created multiple #1 hit games and won numerous "Game of the Year" awards. In 2012 he received the "Development Legend" Award. As an entrepreneur, Interplay, Atari, Disney & Sony have bought his last four companies.
Perry's outreach to the student gaming community has helped thousands of students into the games business, and in return was awarded the first ever Masters Degree in Video Game Development from Westwood College, and a Doctorate in Computer Science from Queen's University Belfast.
Recently, he co-founded Gaikai, developing a new "Netflix of Games" technology to deliver game experiences instantly from the cloud. After acquiring the company Sony now calls this technology "PlayStation Now".
Perry was one of the longest serving Advisory Board members for the Game Developers Conference, the OneBigGame.org Charity, the IGDA Accessibility group for Handicapped Gamers and Get Well Gamers.
He's easy to spot, he’s probably the tallest person in the game industry!

The TED story
Went to my first TED in 2005, spoke in 2006 about the Video Game Industry, been coming back ever since. It was a real honor to get to speak at this conference, so I wasn't going to miss it for anything. I find I spend the year after TED hearing about (and discussing) the things I heard at TED. It's a glimpse of the future and I come away inspired every time.
