Bio

With a background in professional theatre (acting, singing, and technical), and an undergraduate and Masters in English, Zarrah brings a dynamic set of skills to the TEDxUNBC team. Focusing on both speaker preparation and Stage Management for the event, she ensures a smooth experience for the elements rarely seen. While not doing TEDxUNBC, she is the Ceremonies and Protocol Officer at UNBC, dealing with all aspects of the Convocation ceremonies and high profile events on campus.

I'm passionate about

Personally: Performing and the pursuit of artistic expression, while also learning more about the tangible world. I straddle the world of arts and the world of science, as I have passions for both. Professionally: Continuous improvement of process and analysis of metrics to ensure the best possible experience for attendees.

An idea worth spreading

That what we do now, in the current era of our lives, will be judged by future generations. As we evaluate the decisions and actions of history, we must be reminded that the same lens will be put on us fifty or a hundred years from now. Does this change the relationship of our decisions? Can we impress our future selves?

Areas of expertise

Event Management, Event Planning, Performance coaching, Protocol, Stage Management

The TED story

I worked as a Stage Manager for TEDxUNBC 2017, coming to the role later in the process. But, I have been watching TED Talks every since they came online. I still would love to give a talk one day, but for now I want to facilitate ideas worth spreading through my involvement as co-organizer of TEDxUNBC.
