A Demand for Excellence.....!!!
“Split the atom’s heart, and lo within it thou wilt find a sun” quotes Baha’u’llah in His mystic book ‘The Seven Valleys’. In everything, there are immense possibilities only if we strive to dive deeper and bring out the priceless pearls. Only opening a school was not my dream, I craved for nothing short of perfection and excellence. This ongoing pursuit for quality and excellence soon made Little Angels High School the First ISO certified school of Madhya Pradesh whereas this determined demand for excellence persistently made my entire team comprised of over 250 teachers and hundreds of supporting staff bestowed with all the superlatives for everything they do. This resolve also helped me rise to the heights of leadership where I assumed many core roles in enhancing the quality of education in a wide ambit by becoming the *Regional Director of World Council for Total Quality & Excellence in Education (WCTQEE),
*Facilitator of Students Quality Control Circles of India.
*Member of International Forum for Child Welfare (IFCW) and also associated myself with a number of renowned National & International associations and forums serving myriad of interests and social activities, including Independent School Forum of India (ISFI), Asian Indian Women Forum (AIWF), Council for Global Education (CGE), USA, Executive Partner with Global Network of Religions for Children (GNRC), American Society for Quality (ASQ), Women Entrepreneurs of India (WEI), National Principals Association (NPA).
Beginning of a Dream, an Idea!
I got married and settled in the historical city of Gwalior situated in India in the year 1984 .
In those nascent days, I saw a dream together with my husband Sunil Olyai. The dream was an idea to set up a school for children with a marked difference from other existing schools of Gwalior. I wanted to rear the children in the ‘Garden of God’ where each one of them becomes a ‘value oriented being ’. The idea bloomed into reality and thus came in existence LAHS Gwalior. From the very offset LAHS students not only excelled academically but also spiritually . We were driven by the vision of Baha’u’llah , the Prophet Founder of the Baha’i Faith who clearly said: “Every child is potentially the light of the world…”.
As I stand on the portals of the year 2019 as Director of LAHS Gwalior with 4 branches and over 6,000 students i can fondly say that it's been a wonderful journey with thousands of students and their parents who reposed their trust in us and walked with us every step of the way ! Since then, i have never paused to think how many miles i have walked, nor did i pause to reckon, how many miles i still have to tread. I just assimilated my soul into the souls of these thousands of students . It has truly been an engrossing journey which will continue even when i cease to breathe on this mortal plane.
In the journey of last 29 years, Little Angels High School has effectively served it's mission to see it's Alumni placed succesfully in every corner of the globe, proving their excellence and sense of service in myriad fields of human endeavours. What can be more gratifying for me as a Director than to see my students well placed in every top multi national company on the globe.
I'm passionate about
A leader is never at rest until he or she has made a novel path for others to tread on. My fondness for doing something new and abiding by it has always kept me busy with setting new benchmarks for myself .
I am proud that I could lead Little Angels High School to be a school where it has lately received the ‘Best School of the Year Award’ from the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan while I also received International Status Award in the field of Education.
Assuming my role as a path-maker, I launched the FIRST BLIND STUDENTS QUALITY CIRCLE IN ASIA in September 2007 and was instrumental in launching India Ethics Campaign at LAHS for the first time in Madhya Pradesh.
I was also instrumental in launching the First India Ethics Campaign in Madhya Pradesh, I also launched the GNRC program at LAHS.In collaboration with the External Affairs Dept. of the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of India, I worked enthusiastically for eradicating violence against women & children. Further, I collaborated with IFCW on issues related with underprivileged children.
An idea worth spreading
“Every child is potentially the light of the world” is an idea I find worth spreading. I believe that God has gifted special qualities to each child and the role of educators is to ‘educe’ (bring out) those qualities from the latent corners of the child to the external surface in such a manner that those qualities could be utilized for serving mankind. In this way, every child has potentials which can be channelized to carry forward an ever-advancing human civilization.
