Bio
Ruby Ramsay is currently a undergraduate student pursuing a degree in computer science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. During her time in Amherst so far, she has started a TEDx organization TEDxAmherst, a 501(c)(3) non profit that acts as a fiscal sponsor for local TEDx organizations, a computer science mentoring group for incoming freshman, and PALs (People Against Loneliness) - a coalition that started at the beginning of the pandemic to connect with diverse people and share ideas.
In addition to this, Ruby also works as a Jr. Product Manager specializing in UX/UI design at Ompractice - a Western Massachusetts based startup that provides online interactive yoga memberships. She also just begun working on a startup called BidSicily that provides an auction platform for the auctioning off one euro houses in old Italian cities as a way to revitalize the towns' economies. Recently, Ruby's interested have been in advocating for more humane technology, UX/UI design, organizational culture, education reform, and gender equality.
In her free time Ruby is an avid runner, hiker, mountain biker, cross country skier, and yogi. She likes to spend time creating digital and physical art, solve Rubik's cubes, and building Rube Goldberg machines to water her plants. Ruby also just started a cooking blog on Instagram called @v3ganish that consists of pictures and recipes of food she likes to cook. Entrepreneurship and creating things is something Ruby is extremely passionate about and she sees herself creating plenty of companies and organizations in her future.
