Short bio:
Rola is a consultant anaesthetist, humanitarian, human rights advocate and social entrepreneur. She is the founder and CEO of CanDo, a not-for-profit social enterprise delivering resources directly to local humanitarians who provide essential healthcare to their war-devastated communities. She played an integral part in building 7 hospitals in the north of the Syria, including the world's first crowdfunded hospital. She is an international speaker and advocate for the cessation of targeting of civilians and children in war zones, and the protection of medical neutrality.
Rola is also the first Syrian TED Fellow.
